The Committee for Gippsland Board is delighted to announce it has appointed Jane Oakley as its new chief executive officer.
Ms Oakley has been the Interim CEO for the past two months and the board announced today it had appointed her to head the organisation in a permanent role.
Chairman of the Committee for Gippsland Toni Wakefield, said Ms Oakley was a perfect fit to head the organisation as CEO, having lived and worked in Gippsland for many years, and had served the region in several senior executive roles.
“Jane is well known to many Gippslanders for her executive experience across government and business, as well as demonstrating a deep commitment to the local community in a number of capacities over many years,” Ms Wakefield said.
“Jane has positively led transformational change in several organisations, including as a former Area General Manager for Telstra Country Wide Gippsland, Executive Director of the Department of Planning and Community Development in Gippsland and as an Executive Manager with Baw Baw Shire. Jane also serves on several Gippsland boards.
“Over recent weeks, Jane has been actively engaging with our members to listen to their feedback and represent the economic, employment and community priorities for our region on behalf of the Committee for Gippsland,” Ms Wakefield added.
Ms Oakley is looking forward to the challenges ahead. “Gippsland is positioning itself to meet a changing focus and future,” she said. “Issues such as better connectivity, smarter investment and initiatives to drive jobs to create a healthy long term sustainable economy are among our key commitments.”
“As the peak industry and community body for the region, now more than ever it is critical that the Committee for Gippsland continue to take a robust, fact-based and collective approach to driving positive outcomes for Gippsland,” said Ms Oakley.Download C4G appoints new CEO Jane Oakey
