Committee For Gippsland Moving To Hi Tech Precinct

The region’s peak industry advocate, the Committee for Gippsland (C4G), is excited to announce its upcoming relocation to the Innovation Centre at the Hi Tech Precinct in Morwell.

Currently under construction, the purpose-built precinct will promote innovation, productivity and job creation and focus on growing sectors in Gippsland such as new energy, health, food, fibre, niche manufacturing and professional services.

Jane Oakley C4G’s Chief Executive Officer said the Committee has an important role to play in connecting industry with cutting-edge education, research and technology to help drive transition and advancement for the region.

“Many of our members have been significantly affected by major events including bushfire and COVID-19, and many are navigating government reform faced by sectors such as energy, forestry and fisheries.

“We believe our move to the Innovation Centre will help us connect our members to new and innovative ways of doing business and enable us to assist them to grow and thrive in ways that are both strategic and viable.”

There is also great potential for the wealth of knowledge and expertise associated with C4G’s strong industry and business membership to value-add to the precinct’s role in business incubation, new product development, start up support, and education and training.

“Our region not only faces recovery from drought, bushfire and pandemic, it also faces major structural reform over the coming years and that’s going to take smart thinking, solid partnerships and ongoing innovation to secure investment for the long-term sustainability of Gippsland,” Jane Oakley explained.

“We look forward to taking our place at the Innovation Centre in the coming months and welcome the new opportunities on the horizon for ourselves, the precinct, and business and industry in Gippsland.”
