
Strategic priorities
The Committee for Gippsland focusses on long-term issues of strategic importance to our members and the Gippsland region. We provide regional leadership and advocacy that creates a sustainable future for Gippsland by helping to attract investment and jobs, and while continuing to support positive and sustainable economic development.
The Board of the Committee for Gippsland last conducted a review of our Strategic Plan in 2025. This four-year strategy has been shaped by extensive consultation - with members from across Gippsland representing a wide range of industries and businesses, large and small, providing clear direction on their priorities.

The skills of the Gippsland workforce underpin the viability of businesses, the creation of employment and opportunity. The skills needs of the region are changing as the economy diversifies. To ensure new industries can be attracted and prosper in Gippsland, the region’s workforce must possess the right skills and knowledge.

Infrastructure creates economic growth in its construction and in its use. It reduces the cost of doing business and increases productivity, which in turn improves standards of living for all Gippslanders.
Ensuring the Gippsland Region has access to infrastructure is critical to achieving these outcomes.

Leverage Gippsland’s natural assets, building environment, workforce capability to secure investment leading to a sustainable future.

Regulation plays a critical role in enabling investment; however, it can also constrain investment as well as increase the costs of doing business. It is vital Gippsland has an investment-ready environment, that enables growth to occur in a sustainable and cost-effective manner.
