Who We Are
The Committee for Gippsland is an apolitical, not-for-profit and self-funded organisation which exists to promote industry and commerce in the Gippsland region. We work closely with our members across all industry sectors to champion Gippsland’s current and future priorities.
-
The Committee for Gippsland is a positive, independent and influential voice for Gippsland, helping to create a sustainable future for the region. By constructively engaging with government, regional stakeholders and our members, we help to attract investment and create jobs across Gippsland, maximising economic outcomes and social benefits for the people of Gippsland.
-
To grow the Gippsland economy through innovation, investment and participation, and support a vibrant community.
-
The Committee for Gippsland provides independent leadership and advocacy for the region. Grounded in evidence, we lead conversations, foster connectivity, encourage innovation and forward thinking, and capture diverse perspectives to ensure a consistent, unified voice focused on Gippsland’s long-term future.
Through active engagement with industry, government and community representatives, we aim to deliver lasting social and economic benefits for Gippsland.
Our membership spans both established and emerging sectors, including energy, manufacturing, education, healthcare, agriculture, construction, engineering, finance, community services, and professional services. It includes a diverse range of organisations, from sole traders and small to medium-sized businesses, to large ASX-listed companies.
Through advocacy, engagement, information sharing, roundtables with state and federal government representatives, region-wide networking, and targeted projects and programs, we help drive regional growth, foster collaboration, and strengthen industry connections.
As part of our commitment to regional leadership, we deliver the Gippsland Community Leadership Program (GCLP), one of Australia’s longest-running regional leadership initiatives designed to build leadership capabilities.
We also lead the Gippsland Offshore Wind Alliance (GOWA) in partnership with the Gippsland Climate Change Network. GOWA is an industry alliance focused on securing investment, developing a skilled workforce, and building the infrastructure critical to Gippsland’s offshore wind sector.
